About Us

My husband and I work in the somewhat boring, somewhat exciting industries of cybersecurity, data protection law and policy, and more recently, AI law and policy. For years, our work took our family overseas, and our kids grew up traveling with us. We spent the most time in England and Switzerland. In Harpenden, England, we gained a true appreciation for the High Street and the pub as the heartbeat of the town. It's where we got coffee in the morning, had roast on Sunday afternoons, had dinner with friends and family on Friday, and had a pint, or a glass of wine on the way home. Our oldest daughter learned the ropes at the local pub, which she then put to use when she got back home and started working at the Pub at the Greene.

In Lausanne, Switzerland, we fell in love with café de Paris on steak frites, filet de perch from Lac Leman, bistro tables packed together inside and outside, fantastic wine, eclectic jazz, French perfume, and that effortless sophistication that the French and the Swiss possess. In fact, our two youngest liked it so much that they each spent their first few years of university there. Often on Sundays, we would walk to our favorite restaurant near their school, La Cariellere. Our daughter would curate a playlist for the walk, and many of those songs have made their way into our playlist here.

When our work brought us back home to the Miami Valley, we missed the “third places” we had grown to love overseas. We wanted to build a spot that brought together that eclectic, continental flair with real, down-to-earth Midwest warmth. A place where you can grab a great espresso in the morning, and a really good glass of wine at night. This led to the opening of our Kettering location in the fall of 2024.

Now, we are so excited to bring that exact same spirit to the Cassel Hills clubhouse in Vandalia. We’re offering a different kind of experience inspired by the heritage of historic mid-century sporting clubs. So whether you’re stopping into the cafe in Kettering for a coffee and to get some work done, stopping by after a round of golf in Vandalia, or coming out for a Saturday date night, we hope to see you soon. ~Scott & Rebekah
